Colour Trends for Spring & Summer 2021
After an unprecedented year, Pantone’s colour trends for Spring/Summer 2021 really pack a punch of hope, excitement and fun. All the things a lot of us have missed out on this year...
The new colourways show how to pair bright and bold hues with classic neutrals to create something that’s fresh, engaging and original.
Of course, colour trends for Spring/Summer are always playful and floral, both for interiors and fashion, but this year’s really bring a new lease of life into the typical pink and yellows we’re so used to.
So, let’s take a look:
Summer Bouquet
This palette removes the use of light and airy pinks and replaces it with deeper red hues, bright lilacs and a splash of green. It combines bold colours with pastels and brings together all the elements of a standard bouquet to create the perfect palette for the summertime; the petals, the stigma and the leaves. The collection celebrates the positivity and calmness we can all gain from the natural world. Adding these colours to your home or wardrobe will definitely add a level of new found optimism that 2020 didn’t quite have.
Intoxicating
Intoxicating is a fun and playful combination of yellows, lavenders, pinks and a calming green to tie it all together. Each colour has a creamy overtone which adds an airy, freshness to the palette. To finish, there’s a splash of aqua blue to transform the range from a countryside Springtime, to Summer by the seaside.
Power Surge
Lastly, there’s power surge: A bold combination of empowering colours that infuse glamour and vibrancy into a bright palette. This rainbow of energy is perfect for the Spring – quickly bringing us into the presence of sunshine and warmth. The palette features zesty greens, exotic pinks and even an electric blue.
The pandemic has left us all constrained within our living spaces, which has led to many of us adding new flashes of colour into the home to add a little playfulness that we’re all missing. This trend is clearly set to continue well into 2021, and personally, we can’t wait.
